When we first visited the States, we enjoyed seeing pick up trucks on the roads, so common in the West, mainly because there are virtually no pick ups in France. It was a typically American thing. We did not know what to even call them, so since a lot of them were Dodge (and the brand is also unknown in France, as opposed to Ford), we called them "dodge".
After we had moved here, she had to buy a car to get around and she bought a brand new one (her first and last ever brand new car): she picked a Dodge Stratus, because Dodge had a meaning, regardless of anything else.

Quand on voyageait aux USA, on aimait bien voir les "pick ups" car il n'y en a pas en France mais ils sont typiquement americains, et on les voyait partout sur les routes de l'Ouest. On ne savait meme pas comment les appeler, alors puisqu'il y en avait beaucoup de la marque Dodge (alors inconnue en France), on s'est mis a les appeler "dodge" (meme s'ils etaient d'une autre marque).
Quand on a eu demenage ici, il lui fallait une voiture. Elle en avait achete une toute neuve (sa 1ere et sa derniere voiture neuve): elle avait choisi une Dodge Stratus, parce que Dodge avait une valeur sentimentale.
